Notes on Sells Mendel

The number of teeth on the z_driven_pulley is 21.

The number of teeth on the x, y, and z pulleys is 8. The diameter is 12.5 (radius 6.25).

The pitch of the 8mm threaded rod employed in the Z axis is 1.25 . It takes 8 full revolutions to travel 10mm.

Any firmware used *must* leave the Z axis turned on during printing, or vertical movement will be lost. During a print you can lose 10-20% of Z travel if not.

The steps given in the firmware for e_steps is (normally) based on the steps required for 1mm of movement.

The x-axis e_steps is based on 16 microsteps per motor step, 200 motor steps per revolution, and 39.26987mm (2*3.14159*6.25) travel per revolution. This comes out to 81.4874 microsteps per 1mm of travel.

The y-axis e_steps is based on the same as the x-axis.

The z-axis e_steps is based on 16 microsteps per motor step, 200 motor steps per revolution, 0.3809 (8/21) z-axis revolutions per z-pulley revolution, and 1.25mm of z-axis travel per z-axis revolution. This comes out to 975.1040 microsteps per 1mm of travel.

About Greg's Accessible extruder mount. The large extruder gear is 43 teeth and ~68mm diameter. The small extruder gear is 10 teeth and <Y> diameter.</del>
