  • 3d Fabrication Committee - Lisa Selk
    • After many months of requests by members... Thanks to PolyPrinter, we now have a 3D Printer set up for printing flexible filament! The cost to use the filament provided by 3D Fab is $0.30/gram for the NinjaFlex. A quick five minute one-on-one training is required before using it. A list of Flexible Filament Printer Trainers is located on the wiki here: https://dallasmakerspace.org/wiki/3DFab-Members-RolesAndAuthorizations#3D_Fab_.22Flexible_Filament_Printer.22_Trainers
    • Thanks to Ian making arrangements with a friend of his, two nice PCs were recently donated to the 'Space to be used as Design PCs. They are both located in the 3D Fab Room, and currently have a handful of programs installed. If you have a design related application that is free to use; but, not yet installed, please let me know. I am looking into putting Adobe Creative Cloud "Complete" on one of the two new PCs.
    • Two of the three cameras for the printers work; but, I don't have them running yet - because I want to wait until I can get the third one replaced and working properly. Once I get a replacement that works with the software I'll be using, we will finally have streaming video (no sound) of what is printing on our 3D printers!
    • I have put a request on the upcoming Board of Director's meeting to request (at least) one more PolyPrinter. Please make a point to show up for the meeting if at all possible to show support for the request.
    • Justin, Alex, Kent, and ??? have been working on the 3D Fab (and Arts) tables. Both rooms should have some shiny new tables in place very soon! (THANKS, Y'all!)
